Wedding Cake London, Prism | Ruffles & Art Deco

Monochrome, ruffles and art deco.  This new Wedding cake design is very on trend yet classic and timeless.  Designed for lovely bride Anjula and groom Joshua, married at Harvey Nichols Prism in London.  Using my monochrome ruffles design as a starting point, which they loved, the brief was monochrome city chic with white, black as well as ivory to match the interiors, a 1920’s art deco element to compliment the theme and the venue, incorporating delicate piped pearls.

Our method of individually hand rolled sugar ruffles encase two of the four tiers, creating an original and beautiful textural effect.  Whilst an art deco inspired interlocking pattern covers the bottom tier, decorated in hundreds of hand piped pearls.  Finished with black grosgrain ribbon.

Inside, the Wedding cake had four alternate tiers of Madagascan vanilla cake with vanilla bean buttercream, strawberry & champagne preserve and chocolate truffle cake.
